Wildlife Tucker Trailer

Wildlife Tucker Trailer

On the 29/12/19 our farm in Sarsfield was badly hit by the East Gippsland bushfires. A total of 800 acres of land and 38 km of wildlife corridor were burnt out. We began feeding out the wombats, wallabies, eastern grey kangaroos, ringtail possums, birds and gliders on 1/1/2020. We then linked with Wildlife Victoria who donated feed and Friends of the Earth who helped us access possum boxes and watering stations. We became a registered hub and delivered feed to volunteers and landholders from Sarsfield to Gelantipy. We self-funded a new trailer and used the wonderful Wildlife Heroes grant to purchase a canvas cover for the trailer to protect the feed supplies from the weather. We fed out, set up and maintained water stations and delivered feed for almost 4 months. There was a species monitoring checklist kept to check on animal health and adjust feeding station contents and location.
