Emergency Response Trailer – South-east Queensland

Emergency Response Trailer – South-east Queensland

After the Gold Coast Hinterland and Peregian Beach bushfires in September 2019, we dreamed of having a custom-built trailer which we could use to respond to natural disasters and events including bushfires, flooding and heat stress events.  Never did we think that our dream would come to fruition!

We were so excited to receive funding from the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife through their Wildlife Heroes Project to make our dream a reality!

Like so many other projects we hit some bumps along the road as a result of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.  High demand on contractors and delays in getting materials meant that our dream was a little slower getting finalised than we had hoped but we are so excited now that our emergency response trailer is in the final fit-out stage with Custom Trucks & Trailers on the Gold Coast.  The guys are working hard to get the finishing touches done so we can then finalise the signage and fill it with our emergency response equipment and supplies which we’ve been busy collecting over the past 6 months.

Whilst we hope that we never have to to put the trailer to use, it is comforting to know that we are now fully equipped to respond to a variety of disasters throughout South-east Queensland.

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife for all of your patience and support whilst we complete this project!
