A Flying Fox Success Story!

A Flying Fox Success Story!

Over the past 10 months Wildlife A.R.C’s flying fox facility on the Central Coast was able to creche and release 197 flying fox pups from 10 different wildlife groups and individual license holders.
The release program was very successful
.
Thank you to Wildlife Heroes and the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife for the support in grant funding – Wildlife A.R.C have built a best-practice creche, flight and release facility for flying foxes on the NSW Central Coast.

Heat stress and starvation events often result in large numbers of animals coming into care. We have a well-established network of carers that can raise pups, however, there is a ‘bottleneck’ in the care system when they need to go into creche as there are few facilities of this type so it is a much needed asset for the sector.
